Review by Ian Delia

The war to save the galaxy is now the cinematic war of the year. Marvel fans have been on hold for this movie for the past 10 years. From “The Incredible Hulk” through now, Marvel has kept Avengers fans on the edge of their seat. With all the anticipation for this movie, however it ends on the biggest cliffhanger of all time. In the movie they don’t give the full avengers experience and making us wait doesn’t help either. Marvel will make a second part to this movie in May of 2019. There is no set in stone name for the upcoming avengers, but it will be a part 2 to the war. Read more…

X-MEN poster good

Review by John Delia

Filmmaker Bryan Singer finally comes up with a very good movie starring the X-Men, but again it’s Team vs. Team in X-Men: Apocalypse. In a matter of months we’ve had Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War and his four superheroes vs. Iron Man’s select four. It’s been a year of class of the titans and it’s only May. But, let’s stick with the review of this weekend’s savers of mankind.

ANT MAN boxart

Review by John Delia

Introducing the smallest Marvel Comics character to the big screen, Ant Man, now of DVD and Blu-ray the superhero takes a turn saving humanity. Aiming to equal his predecessors such as Iron Man and Captain America this little giant comes in close to the pack. The comedy and drama are very good, but much like the movie introductory of the character Thor the opening story does get strung out a bit. If you are a Marvel Comic addict, then Ant Man is sure to thrill as it did for the multitudes that saw the newest hero in movie theaters. Read more…

“FANTASTIC FOUR” (Review & Trailer)

FANTASTIC 4 poster

Review by John Delia

Dropping below the level of the previous sequel, Fantastic Four fails to entertain. Slow moving, lacks excitement, fails to intrigue and for all intense and purposes, unremarkable. The movie that reboots the Marvel characters does nothing more than rehash the story of how they came to be and the introduction of Doctor Doom. The production does not match the Disney’s Avengers products that have taken the superhero genre by storm. Dismal sets, novice direction and 80’s TV special effects doom the film. Originally intended to be remastered for release in 3D, the producers must have realized the film as a failure and trashed the idea to save money. Read more…

After giving the matter a rather embarrassing amount of thought, I've decided that Captain America: The Winter Soldier — new to DVD and Blu-ray this week — is actually the best of Marvel superhero films so far.

“Captain America” an Action Packed Thriller (Film Review)

Next to the Iron Man series, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes in a close second.  The very compelling storyline, creative action, excellent direction and above all good acting combine to put this super hero in the forefront.  Not so sci-fi fantasy, the Captain works to protect and serve. He’s an Ethan Hunt with more courage and abandon. Read more…
