Choosing outer space for his next winning film, Writer and Director Neil Burger offers a galactic adventure with the movie Voyagers. The sci-fi adventure thriller transports his audience into the future using climate change as the base for finding a way to exit the Earth. The concept is very entertaining and with his young cast that really keeps his script lively and dramatic, this is one movie that teens and twenty something’s will glom on for its run in theaters. A pretty cool concept the Sci-fi Adventure G-LOC takes you into space with an astronaut stuck in his damaged space craft. The storyline is original, the acting very good and the direction by Tom Paton who helmed the film Black Ops makes it exciting. Mysterious and intensifying the film Archive takes you into the world of a cybernetic engineer who tries to duplicate his dead wife. Nicely crafted with futuristic sets, seamless computer graphics and much more, the movie entertains much like the film Ex- Machina that wowed sci-fi fans in 2015. In this sci-fi thriller there’s more than meets the eye and as each scene develops, things start to get dangerous leading to an ending far beyond what you may think. Read more…

As each scenario plays out we get closer and closer to the reality in Volition. The film is a science fiction thriller that twists and turns to the final chapter. Well-acted and directed, once the storyline gets into your head you’ll be wanting more. It may be an indie, but the production value proves differently. If you like movies that create a mystery, has a lot of drama and maybe at least a smidgen of realism, check this one out on Digital and other streaming platforms. Read more…

Very nicely produced, the acting, directing and cinematography take you into a weird horror flick that should entertain fans of the genre. Admittedly there has been a lot of films about underwater sea creatures that have become killers, but Sea Fever has a bit of a twist that separates it from others of the same type. I’m sure soon Hollywood will run out of ideas that involve horror from below, but in the meantime enjoy the mind of director and writer Neasa Hardiman. Read more…

A different kind of sci-fi thriller, the movie Color Out of Space is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD/BD and Digital HD. The film has some very good acting, direction and cinematography. The storyline is a bit unimaginative, but does entertain with a narrative that should provide some scares, thrills and a feeling of terror if it’s a dark rainy night and you are at home alone. Especially if you live in a secluded dark forest that has a long ominous road leading to your estate. Read more…

The cool little indie Invasion Planet Earth has been released in North America on DVD, VOD and through digital cable providers. It’s a fun science fiction story that depicts a “new beginning†for the planet that has destroyed most of its population through a terrorist act and finds itself in the hands of aliens that hold the final key to life and death. The production as to explosions and space travel may look a little stark, uneven and not as incredible as movies like Star Wars, but are still viably entertaining to an audience. The directing, acting and script are very good and the presentation on your home televisions should make the experience enjoyable. Read more…

It’s been a while since seeing a movie like The Wave. “Have you ever awakened from a dream so real that for a moment you can’t remember where you are? This movie is a lot like thatâ€. With a very good cast including Justin Long, Donald Faison and Sheila Vand, the movie will have you totally entrenched in one man’s wrong choices that put him on a night from which he’ll likely never recover. It’s a fun sci-fi drama and one of the better thriller’s you’ll see this year. Not what I expected from the trailer, but the movie Underwater entertains. The cast does a very good job of delivering the excitement, the direction is right on the mark, but the story is somewhat worn-out from movies like Alien, Deepwater Horizon, The Poseidon Adventure, most of the shark attack films, San Andreas and especially The Meg to offer a few. However, that said the film is rated PG-13 and not a lot of the teens have seen the older disaster genre films. If you are into a lot of excitement that will have you gasping for air, then Underwater should do the trick. Read more…

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the beginning come full circle. After 42 years the Lucas Films brings the saga to a conclusion in this awesome finale. And like in 1977 when it all began, the exploits still amaze. The space adventure phenomena continues the same credo, “everyone seeks the belief that good will always triumph over evilâ€. Bringing in a new set of heroes that are fighting for the same causes as their predecessors, carries on the belief that what is right will always prevail in the end.
