Wow, this indie film Dreamland came out of nowhere and it really puts the combination of crime/horror/fantasy genres in a very good place. Nicely directed, written and acted, the film takes you into the minds of some very evil protagonists and antagonists. Hard to define who is the wickedest, once the film begins it’s a diabolical whirlwind. Read more…

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil brings a powerhouse of Disney magic that will astound and delight everyone even on their home screens. Filled with so many characters that you will want to stop and count them as they fly by and even freeze frame them to get a better look. The direction is incredible keeping the main actors in character as they work in front of the stage screens. It’s the kind of wonderment that boggles the mind, especially with the opening scenes and later during the battle. Youngsters will enjoy the film and want to see it over and over again. Parents will marvel at the storyline that stretches the imagination beyond the first Maleficent movie. Whether it’s on 4k, Blu-ray or even DVD, the film is seamless and clear. Read more…

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the beginning come full circle. After 42 years the Lucas Films brings the saga to a conclusion in this awesome finale. And like in 1977 when it all began, the exploits still amaze. The space adventure phenomena continues the same credo, “everyone seeks the belief that good will always triumph over evilâ€. Bringing in a new set of heroes that are fighting for the same causes as their predecessors, carries on the belief that what is right will always prevail in the end.

The acting, directing and cinematography captivate the viewer with a story that so punishing you’ll leave the theater in a sweat. It’s one of those dramas that don’t come around too often and when they do they’re a must see. Bring your slicker and an umbrella as this film will blow you away. Read more…

A Trojan horse of a movie, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil brings a powerhouse of Disney magic that will astound and delight everyone. Filled with so many characters that you will want to either see it again on the big screen or get it on home video so you can freeze frame to see every one of the munchkins close up. The direction is incredible keeping the main actors in character in the thick of things with all that’s going around them. And as far as the cinematography goes, it’s a wow. And although it has a lot of adventurous action sequences, this sequel doesn’t get as dark as the first one. Read more…

As the final chapter concludes, it’s good bye to the superhero battalion and one of their masterful powerhouses. Now, I do know this in mind and heart, that the Marvel live action characters were extremely good as a team and on their own. While we THINK they will never work together in the future, let’s not forget that the actors who portrayed them may get bored sitting around for another role to play and then what? There are so many other baddies out there in space, even Captain Marvel states that on film. So my guess is look for some single Marvel character films, before the screams for an assembly are so loud that the studio will cave-in to another Avengers. Read more…
