“Frozen 2” The Strength in Sisters

November 22nd, 2019

Review by John M. Delia, Jr.

The gang is all back and this time they need to discover an event from the past that has changed the future forever. Their search can separate them all from each other and bring possible doom to them or their home. This adventure will bring the sisters into many possible dangers, but they will discover how important their love for each other is to their survival.

When Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) were young they remembered story time with their mother, Queen Iduna (Evan Rachel Wood) and father, King Agnarr (Alfred Molina). There was one particular story they both remember that their father told them, it was about the Enchanted Forest. The Story King Agnarr told was of two different tribes of people, the Arendellians and the forest people. The story he told included one of peace that turned to treachery and violence.

Elsa begins to hear strange sounds that begin to frighten her. Meanwhile, the city of Arendelle begins to experience weird weather patterns that begin to threaten the safety of its citizens. These occurrences lead Elsa and Anna on a mission that they must complete, even though they could be separated from each other forever. With help from Kristoff (Jonathon Groff), Sven, and Olaf (Josh Gad), they embark on an adventure into the mysterious forest and the enchanted land.

Upon their arrival to this magical place, they find that everything is not what they expected and danger lurks on every corner. They also discover that the stories they were told were not so accurate and did not include the importance of their journey. The truth must be found or they and their people will forever suffer the consequences.

Directors and writers Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck do a delightful job putting together this detailed and difficult plot. They wrote the screenplay in a way to bring out the best in each character, while expressing the deep moral issues of the story. The CGI Animation is presented and developed perfectly so that the characters are presented seamlessly throughout the film.

This amazing animated motion picture will keep you intrigued all the way to its completion and it delivers a remarkable gratifying family entertainment. It is a great flick for all to see, from the older adults down to younger children and it is worth watching.

Final Comment: I based my grade on the spectacular and original storyline that includes an excellent adventure that challenges our heroes. (4 out of 5 stars)
