Faith-Based Movies’ Box Office Goes to Hell

The box-office washout of “The Identical” made it four straight misfires for faith-based movies after an unprecedented run of success for religious films earlier this year. The low-budget independent film “The Identical” took in just $1.5 million from 1,956 theaters — a feeble $815 per-screen average — and failed to crack the top ten on the slowest box office weekend of the year.

A new, albeit unsubstantiated report claimed this week that Microsoft’s next Xbox console will not house a Blu – ray player inside. The next-gen Xbox, expected to be unveiled this year by Microsoft, has alternately been referred to as the Xbox 720 and the codename Durango. Previous reports have claimed that it would come packing a Blu – ray player.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) — “The Dark Knight Rises,” the final installment of director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, is the top-selling DVD in the United States, Rentrak said.
