PHINEAS boxartOne of the funnier children’s animated programs on the Disney Channel is the comedy of Phineas and Ferb with their sleuth Perry the Platypus.  Now on DVD, The Perry Files: Animal Agents has all the laughs on one disc from all their adventures this past season.

Join Perry the Platypus – a.k.a. Agent P – and his fellow operatives as they team up to thwart Dr. Doofenshmirtz and his dastardly “Inators.” The funny adversaries may look very different, but they are evil in their own way.  But with Agent P on the job, crushing evil just got better for everyone.

The DVD has over two hours of adventures including: Journey to the Center of Candace, Traffic Cam Caper, Bowl-R-Drama, Vanessassary Roughness, Issabella and the Temple of Sap, Cheer Up Candace, Robot Rodeo, Lotsa Latkes, Agent Doof, Where’s Perry? And What’d I Miss?  Not a minute is lost from the Disney Channel airing, except the commercial breaks.

The following are a couple of adventures that stand out.

"Cheer Up Candace/Fireside Girl Jamboree" - (DISNEY XD)

“Cheer Up Candace/Fireside Girl Jamboree” – (DISNEY XD)

“Where’s Perry?” – Agent P’s fate is finally revealed in the action-packed finale of the two-part television special that left Phineas, Ferb and the gang hanging… literally off an unchartered gorge and Candace frantic over a phone call with Jeremy that left their relationship status in limbo. Now, with Agent P nowhere in sight, Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram square off against evil Carl who controls a set of Flynn-Fletcher robots to take over the OWCA, in one of the biggest battles yet.

“Journey to the Center of Candace” -When Isabella’s dog accidentally eats her Fireside sash filled with all her badges, Phineas and Ferb come up with a plan to build a shrinking submarine so they can go inside Pinky’s stomach and get her sash out. Unfortunately they somehow end up inside Candace instead and right during her big date with Jeremy!

The excellent voice cast includes; Vincent Martella  (TV’s “Everybody Hates Chris”) as voice of Phineas, Thomas Brodie-Sangster ( “Nanny McPhee”) as voice of Ferb, Ashley Tisdale (“Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure”) as voice of Candace, Dan Povenmire as voice of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, Alyson Stoner (“Step Up 3D,” “Camp Rock 1 & 2”) as voice of Isabella, and Caroline Rhea (TV’s “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody”) as voice of Mom.

There are two bonus features; on the disc there’s an extra called “Take Two With Phineas and Ferb”.  Inside the box that the DVD comes in there’s a Spy Kit with Binoculars!

The video quality and size has been enhanced for 16×9 widescreen Televisions with a typical Aspect Ratio of 1.78:1 that should duplicate what you expect from the Disney Channel showings.  Colorful, sharp and with no distortion the adventures should be attractive to even the youngest of children.

The sound quality played through my HD Television features Dolby Digital 2.0 surround sound.  You get to set the volume through your television to the best level for your children.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  A fun collection for your adventurous youngsters. (B)

The Simpson’s never get old they just get funnier and crazier.  In this 473 minute 4 disc set the show provided me with non-stop laughter, and I even had seen most of the episodes on TV already. If you are a Simpsons fan you probably already spotted the collection on the store’s shelf, if you haven’t been a follower or have missed some of their episodes, grab a copy and start having fun.  Warning; you have to like tongue-in-cheek humor and not mind rude, insensitive, obnoxious, mindless, moronic behavior, because that’s what it’s all about.

"How frigtening is this DVD?" You say.

The 21 episodes in the season include some talented comedy by the writers and artists.

Disc 1 features Treehouse of Horror XI, A Tale of Two Springfields, Insane Clown Poppy, Lisa the Tree Hugger and Homer vs. Dignity.  The bonus features on this disc include seven featurettes, deleted scenes and (if you can find them) 2 Easter Eggs.

Disc 2 contains episodes The Computer Wore Menace Shoes, The Great Money Caper, Skinner’s Sense of Snow, HOMR, Pokey Mom, and Worst Episode Ever (But it isn’t).  The extra stuff includes 2 featurettes, deleted scenes and 3 Easter Eggs.

The Homer Hulkster

Disc 3 has episodes Tennis the Menace, Day of the Jackanapes, New Kinds on the Blecch, Hungry Hungry Homer, Bye Bye Nerdie and Simpson Safari.  Four features, deleted scenes and an Easter Egg complete the disc.

If you have survived the first three discs then go for Disc number 4 which includes episodes Trilogy of Error, I’m Goin’ to Praiseland, Children of a Lesser Clod and finally Simpsons Tall Tales.  Three featurettes, deleted scenes and a final Easter Egg bring you to the end.  And if you are a Simpson groupie it will leave you with an empty feeling till you can watch season Thirteen, the new season, on television.  Wow, season ‘13’, I can only

guess what this wretched number will bring.

FINAL ANALYSIS: It’s part of my collection and I don’t lend it out :). (5 of 5 Palm Trees)
