Home entertainment business grows 2% in first half

The increase in consumer spending on movies for home use was fueled by a 50% jump in sales of digital copies. The home entertainment business is growing again, albeit slowly, despite the fact that people continue to spend less on DVDs.

'42' remains best-selling DVD; 'Identity Thief' still top rental

Holding on from the previous week, the Jackie Robinson biopic “42” was the top-selling DVD, coming in ahead of “Evil Dead,” the remake of the 1981 cult horror favorite.
