Review by John Delia, Sr.

The “Despicable Me” series that includes “Minions” never seems to get tiring as they extend their comedy one more time with Despicable Me 3 opening this weekend. The key to the filmmaker’s success is the handling of the characters and inserting them into the animated movie with a plan in mind. Read more…

Charging down the track Disney PIXAR’s first entry into theaters for 2017 Cars 3 crosses the finish line a winner for kids and families. As usual PIXAR goes straight for the heart and delivers an uplifting tale of friendship, determination and good values with which the children can aspire. To set everyone up for the movie, a cartoon about a troubled youth should bring a heartwarming glow from “LOU”. Read more…

“BAMBI” 75th Anniversary Edition (Written Blu-ray Review & Trailer)

Review by John Delia, Sr.

By now everyone probably knows the story of Bambi, especially mothers who have either read it to their child, showed the video to them on a number of media including VHS, DVD and Blu-ray and may have even saw the film on the big screen when they were a child. It’s a ladies favorite, giving them a chance to bring back memories, but especially for clearing out their tear ducts through at least 50% of the 70 minute movie. Heartwarming, heartbreaking and uplifting all rolled into one, it’s truly Disney’s best story now on a 75th Anniversary Blu-ray, DVD and for the first time Digital HD box set. Read more…

Review by John M. Delia, Jr

Can Beauty tame the Beast once more? This beautiful fairy tale of Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has now been turned into a live action motion picture that delivers a more detailed story. What once was animation that provided the story of romance and power, with this release it’s the actors that have to reach out to the audience and make them believe. And they nail it! Much like the recent Walt Disney’s Cinderella (2015) and The Jungle Book (2016), I’m predicting Beauty and the Beast will be another worldwide blockbuster. Read more…

Adding another princess to their family, the movie Disney’s Moana comes to home video and it’s perfect for kids and family. The animated full feature takes place in the Pacific Islands with Fiji in mind. The heroine is a young girl who wants to save her people from becoming extinct due to lack of food. Review by John Delia

One of my favorite Disney films Pinocchio has finally been released on Digital HD in a combo pack with the Blu-ray and DVD. It also has some new bonus features that includes a new version of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in “Poor Papa”.  The last release of the film to DVD and Blu-ray was in 2009 for its 75th Anniversary edition, so if your little ones have not had the opportunity to see the masterpiece at home, on their tablet, smartphone, or even their laptop, then the Digital HD code inside the box will make it all happen.

When’s the last time you saw a good dog movie with love, devotion and heroism? Not the animated type, but one that stars dogs doing some awesome stunts, creating the love for animals and even inspirational. Well you can find all that and more in the movie A Dog’s Purpose, a fun, adventure of a dog’s life that runs full circle. It’s fun for the whole family, but don’t be surprised when your youngster starts begging for a new furry friend. Read more…

“Sing” (Written Review & Trailer)

Probably the most silly of animated films this year, and that’s good thing for Sing. Enjoyable, very funny, touching and oh incredibly wacky the family film targets children, but the adults will enjoy it a lot more than the average toon. I’m surprised the filmmakers waited so long to put the film in theaters, but with no children’s anime to stop it from becoming a blockbuster, it’s a very possible chance it will. Read more…

Review by John Delia

Nicely made the film Pete’s Dragon has reached home video. Now in Blu-ray/DVD and combo the film has a modern twist that should mesmerize the youngest of tykes that like exciting and family oriented films. Since it does have a quite unsettling beginning my advice to parents, run it ahead a bit for 5 and under until you are okay with what you are watching. It settles into a very adventurous fantasy with Elliot the Dragon and the orphaned Pete. Read more…
