Astar Electronics has just launched two new portable widescreen DVD players, the PD 3010 and PD 3020. The new DVD players are ‘top loading’ and feature 6.5″ (PD 3010 model) and 7″ (PD 3020 model) screens.

Toshiba SD-H903A lets you burn HD-DVD on your desktop

And so the battle between Blu Ray and HD DVD continues. In the corner supporting the HD-DVD format is Toshiba, the company that has just announced its latest desktop burner, the SD-H903A. As it is a “half height” optical drive, this burner is “ideally designed for single-bay desktop PCs.”

New Low Cost Hitachi DVD Camcorder

Hitachi announced a new low cost DVD camcorder that offers widescreen 16×9 video recording. The UltraVision DZMV730A DVD Camcorder will feature the new Hitachi Image Engine that they claim will provide a 20 percent improvement in video noise reduction and 20 percent longer battery life.
